Planning a Lavrio port transfer raises a question that does not come up at every port: are you heading to Athens Airport or to an address in Athens? The answer changes which route you ask about and how much margin your day needs.
Identify your arrival
Give the operator, vessel, date and scheduled arrival, and say that you are arriving as a ferry passenger. If you are arriving on something other than a regular ferry, describe it and ask whether it can be quoted instead of assuming that the same arrangement applies.
Airport or Athens city: decide by your deadline
If you are flying, your deadline is your airline’s check-in requirement. If you are going to a hotel, it is the accommodation’s check-in arrangement. Both are different from the arrival time of the ship. Write down the deadline first, because it tells you whether you are looking at a relaxed onward trip or a connection that needs a wide margin.
A private journey or public connections
Public transport links between Lavrio and the airport or Athens exist in various forms, but timings and stops change. Athens International Airport’s page describes its public transport connections and is the place to start, alongside your operator’s current information for your date. This guide does not give bus stops, exits or journey times, and it does not claim that any particular public connection exists.
The two onward routes
These are separate routes with their own quotes. If you are not sure which one you need, ask for both and compare them against your deadline instead of assuming one covers the other.
What to send with your request
- Vessel, operator, date and scheduled arrival.
- The chosen onward destination, with the full address if it is accommodation.
- For the airport, the flight number, date and the airline’s check-in requirement.
- Passengers, bags and any child seats.
Compare the two situations side by side
Going to the airport is a deadline problem: the flight does not wait, so the margin you build matters more than the price. Going to a hotel is a convenience problem: the main risk is arriving before check-in or at an entrance nobody is watching. Different risks call for different questions. For the airport, ask how the proposed pickup time relates to your check-in requirement. For the hotel, ask your host about access after a late arrival, and give the team the entrance instructions. Writing down which problem you actually have often settles which route to request.
Docking is not the same as being ready
After the ship arrives you still need to disembark and collect your bags before meeting your driver. Ask for the meeting arrangement to be written down, and keep the contact method from the confirmation with you. This guide does not describe a particular meeting point at Lavrio. Your confirmation and your operator’s instructions do.
A different port needs a different request
If your ferry might call at Rafina instead, that is a separate set of routes. Check the arrival port on your ticket before you write to the team. See Athens port transfer options for an overview.
See the Lavrio port transfers page for the available routes, then send your details through the contact page or write to info@transferhub.gr. A request is not a confirmed reservation.
