After the Corinth Canal and the marble streets of Ancient Corinth, the route curls around the Gulf to the Heraion of Perachora, a small sanctuary of Hera on a rocky cove that feels like a secret. Beside it lies Lake Vouliagmeni, the Blue Lake, a lagoon of impossibly clear water where you can swim between sightseeing.

Yes, from late spring to autumn. Lake Vouliagmeni is a warm, calm lagoon joined to the sea by a narrow channel, with a small beach and tavernas on the shore. Bring swimwear and a towel.
A small sanctuary of Hera on a cove at the very tip of the Perachora peninsula, beyond Loutraki, with a lighthouse above it and the Gulf of Corinth on three sides. It is free to enter and one of the quietest ancient sites near Athens.
Your driver-guide speaks English, Greek and French and briefs you between stops. Drivers are not licensed to guide inside archaeological sites; a state-licensed guide can be arranged on request at an extra charge. Entrance tickets for Ancient Corinth are not included.
