Round-trip transfers on different dates are two separate arrangements, even when you ask for them together. The outward leg and the return leg have their own pickup points, passengers, bags and deadlines, so it helps to plan them as a pair of small projects.
Build a two-leg worksheet
For each leg, write down:
- The date and the pickup address.
- The destination.
- The flight or ferry details, where relevant.
- The number of passengers and the bags.
Do not assume the return is the outward leg in reverse. People join or leave, luggage grows, and the pickup is often a different place.
Arrivals and departures run on different clocks
An arrival leg is built around the moment you will be ready to meet the driver, after landing or after leaving a ferry. TransferHub’s published airport service includes flight tracking and an airport waiting allowance. Those terms help an arrival, and the confirmation sets out what applies to your journey.
A departure leg works backwards from the flight. Look at your airline’s check-in and bag drop requirements first, then decide the time you want to be at the airport, then the time you will be ready at the pickup address. Check-out time is a separate figure from the time you will be ready to leave.
Your party and luggage change
A holiday adds purchases, and a friend may join the return only. Tell the team about changes in the party or in the bags for each leg instead of repeating the outward list. If a leg needs child seats and the other does not, say so on that leg.
Different addresses at each end
You may arrive at the airport and leave from a different hotel, or travel to and from a port. Each direction is its own route. For airport and city journeys see airport to Athens city and Athens city to airport. For port journeys, see Athens port transfers. The airport routes to Rafina and Lavrio exist in both directions:
- Athens airport to Rafina port and Rafina port to Athens airport
- Athens airport to Lavrio port or city and Lavrio port or city to Athens airport
Send one enquiry with each leg itemised
You can ask for both journeys in one message. Structure it like this:
- Leg 1: date, pickup, destination, flight or sailing, passengers, bags.
- Leg 2: the same fields, filled in again for the return.
Ask the reply to say what each leg costs and covers. Do not assume that a return request earns a different price, that both dates are held together or that the second leg is the first one reversed. None of those is stated, so ask.
Check the dates on both legs
Mistakes in a two-leg request usually come from dates, not from routes. A very early flight means a pickup in the small hours of the departure date, which can feel like the night before. Write each date out in full with the month, and ask the reply to repeat both dates and both pickup times. If one leg is booked much earlier than the other, check again nearer the time that the details have not changed, such as the flight number or the hotel.
Keep the confirmations together
Save both confirmations and the contact method. If something changes on one leg, raise it for that leg and check whether the other is affected. A request is not a reservation until you have accepted the written confirmation.
