The oracle and the last stand of the 300
Two of the most storied places in Greece in one private day trip. At Thermopylae you stand where Leonidas and his Spartans held the pass in 480 BC, beside the bronze statue raised in his honour. Then the road climbs to Delphi, sanctuary of Apollo and home of the oracle, where the Sacred Way, the theatre and the museum with the bronze Charioteer wait among the cliffs of Parnassus.

Because it makes the loop shorter. Delphi first in the morning, then down to the coast at Thermopylae on the way home, which avoids doubling back over Parnassus. Allow 10 to 11 hours with a 08:00 pick-up and a return around 18:15.
The Leonidas monument, the Kolonos hill where the 300 Spartans made their last stand, the hot sulphur springs that gave the pass its name and the visitor centre. It is a 45 minute stop; there is no entrance fee for the monument.
Your driver-guide speaks English, Greek and French and briefs you on the way, but drivers are not licensed to guide inside archaeological sites. A state-licensed guide for Delphi can be arranged on request at an extra charge. Entrance tickets are not included.
